We Recycle used Contact Lenses!
Northeast Optometry has joined Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Free Recycling Program® and TerraCycle® to reduce the waste of used contact lenses.
NEO now accepts contact lens waste including the lens and blister packaging. #RecycleEverything
How do the contact lenses get recycled?
Anyone who would like to participate can drop off their contact lenses at our office at 60 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA 02474. We will ship the lenses to Terracycle® by UPS where the contact lens waste will be recycled into raw material, then sold to manufacturing companies to be used.
Rules: In order for us to accept your recycled waste, the contact lens waste must be dry, and not dripping wet. All brands of contact lenses and blister packs qualify. Cleaning your blister packs is not necessary.
THE RECYCLED WASTE BECOMES…
Outdoor furniture and decking
Tubes for Construction applications
Plastic shipping pallets
Watering cans
Storage containers & bins
Playground surface covers
Athletic fields and more!
Bausch + Lomb ONE by ONE Recycling Program®: For every 10 pounds collected, B+L will make a $10 donation to Optometry Giving Sight—a global fundraising initiative aiming to solve unnecessary blindness and vision impairment.
