Dr. Josephine Ko is an optometrist who provides all comprehensive eye care. Dr. Ko specializes in ocular disease, dry eye, myopia control (Certified MiSight prescriber), and specialty contact lens fittings.
Dr. Ko earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biology from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, in 2016. She later received her doctorate at New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA in 2020. She then completed her Ocular Disease residency at Cincinnati Veteran Affairs Medical Center under The Ohio State University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2021. In the same year, Dr. Ko underwent a rigorous evaluation of her professional competence, achieving acceptance as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
Dr. Ko's diverse experience in patient care includes the Cincinnati and Manchester Veterans Hospitals, private practices in Washington DC and the Greater Boston area, as well as community health centers in the Greater Boston area. Her extensive background allows her to excel in all facets of optometric care, ensuring her patients receive the highest standard of service. During her time at New England College of Optometry, she worked at Korb and Associates in Boston, gaining expertise in specialty dry eye care. Notably, she had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Korb, a recognized leader in the dry eye field within optometry, who made significant contributions such as the discovery of the meibomian glands. Dr. Ko's experience alongside this esteemed professional further solidified her expertise and passion for addressing specialized aspects of dry eye conditions.
Presently, Dr. Ko holds active membership in both the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association, showcasing her dedication to professional development and staying connected with advancements in the field of optometry. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Ko finds joy in exploring new restaurants and cities during her free time. Her commitment to both her community and personal interests reflects a well-rounded individual dedicated to enhancing the vision and well-being of those she serves.
